Human Connections Start With A Friendly Touch : NPR

Human Connections Start With A Friendly Touch

Human Connections Start With A Friendly Touch : NPR

Touch is often determined by class and culture. Each culture has a clear concept of what parts of the body one may or may not touch. The basic message of touch in the western world is to affect or control — protect, support, disapprove (i.e. hug- hit, kiss- kick). Touch in the African diaspora is for connecting, healing and nurturing. The concept of touch has been skewed in African culture by the denigrating impact of the Maafa.
  • In the U.S., a handshake is common (even for strangers), hugs, kisses are permitted for those of opposite gender or of family (usually) on an increasingly more intimate basis. Most American-Africans will always touch on greeting, often in very sophisticated and elaborate ways, but are annoyed if touched on the head (good boy, good girl overtones).
  • Africans and Asians generally don’t touch the head unless they are grooming or are intimate (The head houses the soul and a touch puts it in jeopardy).
  • Many non-western cultures associate touch with healing. so the Healing Touch or Laying on of Hands is a significant part of cultural life.
  • Islamic and Hindu: typically don’t touch with the left hand. To do so is a social insult. Based on their beliefs, the left hand is used for toilet functions. It is mannerly in India to break bread only with your right hand (sometimes difficult for non-Indians)
  • Islamic cultures generally don’t approve of any touching between genders (even handshakes). But consider such touching (including hand holding, hugs) between same-sex to be appropriate.
    What is Healing Touch?
Healing Touch is a relaxing, nurturing energy. A gentle touch assists in balancing the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of a person. Healing Touch works with your energy fields to support your natural ability to heal. It is safe for all ages and works in harmony with standard medical care.

    How Does Healing Touch Benefit?

     Healing Touch in Reducing Stress

One of the common reports after receiving a Healing Touch session is one of deep relaxation and a sense of peacefulness.  This has been reported in a number of patient satisfaction surveys and in practice by both practitioners and their clients. In our stressful lives having the opportunity to come to a place of peace and rest is beneficial.  Some of those receiving a healing report that it feels like experiencing a deep meditation without the training and effort... Anxiety and Depression
Anxiety and depression are very common in today’s global society. The effects of these disorders can create personal, family, and community hardship. Healing Touch may be able to help alleviate some of that suffering. For example, in a research study with heart patients Healing Touch was shown to reduce anxiety when used prior to a hospital procedure.(1)
Depression is a complex disorder that often times requires medical treatment. In one study symptoms of depression using a standard test were found to decrease faster with those receiving Healing Touch.(2) In an Australian study(3) depression was found to result in a disconnection from self, others and the world. Healing Touch was helpful in providing an opportunity for the patients in this study to experience understanding, safety, trust and positive anticipation in order to reconnect with the self, others and the world.
In other studies that involved looking at these factors positive effects have been found on decreasing anxiety and depression.(4),(5),(6) For example, in women undergoing radiation treatment the Healing Touch group showed more pronounced improvements in their levels of depression, anxiety and anger compared to the group that received a sham or fake healing session.(4) In another study,(6) with patients receiving chemotherapy for cancer treatment, there was a decrease in depression in all three intervention groups (one of which was Healing Touch, the others massage and presence), which suggests that the presence of a caring person may help improve mood and reduce depression. However, they found that the specific intervention effects of massage and Healing Touch suggest that the touch therapies have an additive beneficial effect in improving mood, energy, and reducing fatigue. The above revelations of Healing Touch display how the European corpora-tocracy of imperialism has capitalized on our original knowledge of healing modalities, then has planted the impression that our curative and survival solutions are inaccessible without medical prescription and financial sacrifice. What greatly concerns me is the presence of the pariahs of "Post Traumatic Slavery Disorders" that lurk within our communities, They are reflected in the highest statistics of physical illness, (Stroke, High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Heart Attack, Cancers,) also Domestic Violence, Child/ Adult Abuse, Mental Illness, and Black on Black crime statistics. With these statistics, there seems to be a phenomena of great depression, Isolation, self medication and abuse, and desensitization that goes on, in our community. We can always say that "This is by design" all day long, yet, in saying that, we are surrendering to outside pressures and oppression. I for one, refuse to allow my family and community to "go gently into...!"

We must take back our healing modalities and then apply them to our own families and communities. If it can be said that the wealth of a civilization, society or culture is manifested by there investment in their Children and Elders... then we have a long way to go to divest from a society that "eats their young" and institutionalizes their elders.

Raising Afrikan Children to be Critical Thinkers in a Global Technological World

I have recently read a blog-post from Jamal Ali with dated content information for the year 2007 : http://electronicdrum.wordpress.com/2008/06/06/education-where-we-are-at-right-nowdid-you-know/#comment-10447 - I became profoundly aware of the exponential changes that must have occurred since that information was presented… and the clock is still ticking! As a parent and educator, I was then presented with an awesome task before me! When you combine this article With another posts from Khepera: Why Love Matters- How affection shapes a baby’s brain: http://electronicdrum.wordpress.com/2004/07/17/minding-the-baby/ -knowing that you can shape the future outcome of a child within the first 2 months of their lives is a daunting task and responsibility. This Education content also reminds me of a documentary that I watched called 2 Million Minutes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niU1E3SSTAM We must produce global thinkers.

I did notice what I think is a critical oversight in the film; "Did You Know." It was disturbing to note the complete absence of the African continent, and the participation of African countries in the statistics that were presented. Many African countries, now free from colonial rule, maintain high a academic discipline of education and the sciences. Timbuktu, was renowned in history as the seat of knowledge and scholarship. Sankore University, Senegal, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology - Kumas, Cheikh Anta Diop University, in Dakar, The University of Ibadan, The list goes on... There are many African scholars who are graduating with doctorates and PhD.'s from prestigious universities in Europe as well as the United States.

I consider my world view perspectives to align with Pan Africanism. The historical presence of Africans are found, and continue to be discovered, everywhere in the diaspora. We traversed the earth as migrants and explorers with benevolent gifts and philosophies- long before the travail of the Maafa. Having this perspective helps me to connect to a global worldview. Understanding that every technological achievement is a tangible manifestation of what each one of us already possess within ourselves.  Our human brains are still very vast and sophisticated organic structures that are still uncharted in the realms of untapped resources and capabilities. We must cultivate and polish our critical thinking skills to not only to amass knowledge and skills for technological applications, but to understand and interact with the inner-verse and our spiritual connections with all living things. We need more of the presence and participation of Afrikan mathematicians, scientists and engineers not only for the cultivation of a "Brave New World,"  but yet, for the stewardship and sustainability of this planet and to the rest of the Universe. I think that as humans in a society, we will ultimately be held accountable for our responsible (or the lack there of) care and use of this planet's natural resources and environment.

The 4 Major Points That We Must Move Our Afrikan Children To:

    1. We must teach our students how to deal with massive amounts of information.
    2. We must teach our students global communication, starting in Pre-Kindergarten
    3. We must teach our students to be self-directed learners and understand how to organize more of their own learning
    4. We must teach our African children, to obtain knowledge of the sciences- and then return to their own communities to promote our abundance and prosperity.

    Derrick Barnes Interview

Derrick Barnes is one of Kansas City's Positive Male Images! He is a Children's Author, Teacher, Father of 3 Boys, & Husband. On November 1 Derrick Barnes has presented a NEW HARDCOVER NOVEL CALLED:

    WE COULD BE BROTHERS

We Could Brothers addresses the presence and lack of positive male leadership in the home, and how it dictates the way young African American men view themselves, each other, and the world around them. Mentorship, brotherhood, and an emphasis on that old adage "each-one-teach-one" are very real and tangible themes in this new YA literary masterpiece.

The HAND of DEATH and DISEASE

The Hand of Death and Disease

Afrikan Americans are dying at a higher rate than any other ethnic group, from preventable diseases, caused by THE CHOICES THAT WE WILLINGLY FOLLOW AND PUT IN OUR OWN MOUTHS, AND FEED TO OUR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES EVERY DAY!

I'm writing about our diets- the common western-roman-slave High Carbohydrate/ High Acidic diets, that the majority of people eat in the west. Although Stress, PTSD (Post Traumatic Slavery Disorders,) Pollution, Contamination, Poisons, and Drugs, in our air, water and food aren't enough, and the normal day-in-day-out Micro-Aggression stresses from racism, Racial Profiling, and disenfranchisement takes it's toll on our bodies with excessive cortisol production, we still have choices, like our habits of diet and exercise, that we can choose and control!

American Afrikans have the highest rates of the following diseases, among the population of the U.S. (maybe even the rest of the world where we have assimilated western European culture.)

I list the 5 fingers on THE HAND OF DISEASE AND DEATH:

    1. Heart attacks

    2. Strokes,

    3. type 2 Diabetes,

    4. High-blood pressure

    5. All Cancers,

These disease death rates are higher than Homicide- including Hate crimes, Black on Black Murder, police brutality killing, and war! These diseases are like a ball and chain, to an already stressful existence. Without a healthy disease-free lifestyle, one is bound to, and often at the mercy of, an often dysfunctional, drug-pushing medical system. As we follow the highly commercialized junk food pushers, we are eating ourselves (and with our own hands serving to our children) a path to misery and an early grave.

Yes, All of these diseases are treated by medical doctors with surgery and long-term medications. I have concluded that the 5 diseases that I have listed, are caused simply by diet choices and lack of exercise and that can be prevented by simply making healthy diet and exercise choices.

Many of our people live by a 2 fisted grip on death and disease on our family.

African Americans suffer disproportionately from several major health problems associated with high morbidity and mortality. The 1985 DHHS Secretary's Task Force Report on Blacks and Other Minorities identified six major disease categories of excess deaths for African Americans compared with whites by applying the lower death rate for whites to the American population. The report provided a stimulus for public and private action to begin to address the health disparities between minority and non-minority populations. This article examines three of the leading causes of death for African Americans and assesses the extent to which the health disparity between African Americans and whites has been reduced. An extensive list of barriers to reducing the disparity are presented from the scientific literature and strategies for reducing the three health problems are recommended.

10 Leading Causes of Death for African Americans

    (Causes of Death from 2010)

    1. Heart Disease
    2. Cancer
    3. Stroke
    4. Diabetes
    5. Unintentional Injuries
    6. Nephritis, Nephrotic Syndrome, and Nephrosis (Kidney Diseases)
    Chronic Kidney Disease
    7. Chronic Lower Respiratory Disease
    8. Homicide- Youth Violence
    9. Septicemia
    10. Alzheimer's Disease

That's the reason I became vegetarian. I found that our Beef livestock used to eat grass, nurse their own young and roam the prairies as part of a natural habitat. Our Nubian Pastoral and Shepherd Kings- Ancestors from Afrika were the first to Corral and Herd animals through open prairies. -Now, these animals are artificially grown and live in containment factory structures - bred over and over again by the same siblings or cloned in a science center. Often this meat comes from devitalized clones, grown from stem cells. All of this "meat" (Pork, Beef, Chicken, and Fish) has been adulterated. These creatures eat pellets of the remains of their predecessors, that were scooped up from the slaughterhouse! They are injected with antibiotics and hormone growth accelerators. They stand all of their limited lives, on top of their own waste...They are bred through artificial insemination. They are never allowed to bond or see their offspring after they are produced or receive any kind of affection. (That is how many of our ancestors were treated too!)

    I attribute a lot of our obesity and cholesterol problems to the consumption of animal fats particularly lard found in pork. While many have argued in defense of pork consumption, (I'm sure that the pork industry has taken a severe blow from the "Swine Flu" coo) it has been quipped "God made everything!" and the notoriously misinterpreted "Arise Peter slay and eat." Yet, when it comes to the justification of serving this gall to our Afrikan families, please, let me ask you this;

Would you eat; decay, fungus, flies, cockroaches, maggots, scavenger carcasses, like vultures, hawks, hyenas and reptiles, plastic, poisons, acid, dirt, feces, rotting carcasses, and molding rotten fruits and vegetables? (God made these too!) Do you know that a worm-infested pig will eat this stuff and not even get sickened by it!

The United States Food System has changed! We are no longer receiving the same foods and varieties that our families consumed 40 years ago!

    See: Codex Alimentarius.

REMEMBER! THE SURVIVORS OF KATRINA--- who suffered from Diabetes, Cancer, and High blood pressure diseases ---WERE LEFT TO DIE FOR LACK OF FRESH MEDICATIONS! For instance, when the supply of fresh insulin was unavailable to administer to a diabetic, because of lack of electricity and refrigeration,- these people were given a blanket, and comforting words, then abandoned in the presence of medical staff, first aid, and emergency clinics, to transition, waste away, go into shock and die!

Here are some of the criminal, deadly contenders that we feed ourselves and our families every day:
    • Processed sugar
    • (High fructose) -corn syrup (candy, sweets,)
    • ALL ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS!
    • Processed Salt
    • Adulterated Animals: Pork, Beef, Chicken and fish consumption as processed meat, (sausage, bologna, hot-dogs, canned) Artificial Crab, butter, lard, whey, oils, (also found in lotions, hair care products, makeup, and other cosmetics)
    • Processed devitalized, white foods, that are starched based carbohydrates, genetically modified grains- Corn and Wheat Flour gluten products - white flour, white rice, white potatoes
    • Highly acidic and non-nutritive filler "fake foods" also known as junk foods and "snacks", All highly preserved and processed foods and snacks with benzine and other preservatives
    • Milk (Puss!)- and processed dairy products - Butter, Cheese, Ice cream, whey, Yogurt, WE ARE NOT INFANT COWS!
    • Impure and acidic drinking water filled with fluoride, Chlorine, mercury, and lead= (unfiltered tap water)
    • Carbonated, sugary and highly preserved beverages that mimic 100% fruit juice (What is "Cool Aid" anyway?!)
    • Alcoholic drinks
    • Microwaved and irradiated foods
    • Foods wrapped and contained in Aluminum, foam, and plastics (baby Bottles, Nipples, sippy cups, and plastic drinking bottles)
    • "Fast foods" with high levels of sodium, white carbohydrate starches and Acrylamide-
    • Toxic Chemicals on your skin and hair. Remember that your biggest organ, the skin, and scalp- breathes and eats whatever topical product from the cosmetic industry, you put on it- namely petroleum Jelly, arsenic, formaldehyde, and other toxic chemicals.

    Top Sources of Food Carcinogens

Any charred food - from burnt popcorn - to burnt toast, is highly carcinogenic.
Meat in general (in terms of the fats associated) is carcinogenic, especially overcooked meat.
Smoked/ roasted foods like soya, roasted corn, and grilled fish -heated with harmful materials such as tires, treated wood, polyethylene bags, rubber materials etc.
Acrylamide is found in browned foods like bread crust, toast and broiled meats.
Sugar is carcinogenic - whether white or brown. Instead of sugar, substitute honey or Stevia leaves
Stomach cancer is associated with high salt intake, with spicy foods and smoked food
Sodas and Energy drinks are carcinogenic for a variety of reasons beyond their high sugar content and harmful additives.
Artificial sweeteners, sucralose, and particularly aspartame, are carcinogenic
Excessive alcohol with so many preservatives is toxic
Trans fats found in fries and snack chips are carcinogenic
Microbial contaminants and toxins like aflatoxins found in Aspergillum infected nuts and seeds
Chemical food additives (Artificial flavorants, colorants, preservatives) eg. nitrosamines which is a preservative is a cancer precursor
Fluoride and Chloride and may other toxic chemicals and preservatives, found in most beverages and water is Carcinogenic. Question the water content of most beverages; they often use tap water to prepare at restaurants and commercial soft drinks.
Unfortunately, the very container that most processed foods and drinks are stored- is carcinogenic.

SO, WHAT'S LEFT? What other alternative choices do we have?

WE MUST GROW OUR OWN FOODS TO TAKE BACK CHARGE AND CONTROL OF OUR OWN WELL BEING!

    • Fresh Fruits- raw as possible, naturally sweet
    • Fresh Vegetables- as raw as possible
    • Whole organic grains- from real grains! Buckwheat, Quinoa, Teff, Amaranth, Kamit, Spelt, Rye, Wild rice, (not genetically modified)
    • Sprouted beans and seeds
    • Seeds and Nuts
    • Herbs
    • The bounty and varieties of Certified or non-certified Organic, heirlooms, homegrown, Foods
    • Clean alkaline water
    • Fresh Clean Air- (even good smelling- natural things like uncut flowers are good for ya and good to ya)
    • Lots of Exercise, Meditation and Rest
    • Creative, Inventiveness, production and manufacture of our own goods, products and foods,
We are the ones who must emancipate ourselves and our progeny from mental slavery! For our own survival, we must cultivate and relearn healthy ways, traditions, and cultural values. It is vital that we acquire an appetite for and a "hunger and thirst after" a righteous lifestyle and not a death-style!

As Women (Womb of mankind,) we have a greater responsibility to support and promote our own health and wellness, as well as a healthy lifestyle and (not a death-style!) for our family and neighborhoods.

IF The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world, then WE MUST each TEACH A GIRL-TO HEAL A NATION!

Global Atrocities On Indigo People of Afrikan Descent from the U.S. and Beyond

Why wasn't the Case of the Tuskegee Experiment on syphilis, eligible for financial reparations and atonement for what occurred with men and families of Afrikan Descent, right here in the US -long before the case of the Guatemalan Syphilis Clinical trials?

The Tuskegee syphilis experiment[1] (also known as the Tuskegee syphilis study or Public Health Service syphilis study) was a clinical study conducted between 1932 and 1972 in Tuskegee, Alabama, by the U.S. Public Health Service. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuskegee_syphilis_experiment

So, "what is going on?" We definitely need to wake up and realize what is occurring right in our Afrikan homes and communities, through the U.S. Government, the U.S. medical, and the Food and Drug Administration departments, which also includes local hospitals, City Health departments, HUD housing, penal institutions, clinics, and doctor’s offices. It is about time we expose what has been hidden about our health and well being and to face the realities of the ongoing Maafa genocide of this world, against all people of Afrikan Descent. Many of our people are unaware or in denial of what is really happening, what is STILL happening around us- to our loved ones and our families. We must also realize our ties in the U.S. with the Global atrocities and genocide on Indigo people of Afrikan Descent all over the planet.

Just as Henrietta Lacks’ Family was completely unaware, that their mother’s cells were being used for countless medical and human experiments. We are all called to be vigilant- to stand watch over one another. In the words of Harriet Tubman, “I freed a thousand slaves I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves.”

The sad reality is, this atrocity at Tuskegee is not the only a hidden and ignored account of human exploitation and abuse! First we must put into perspective chattel slavery itself. Indigo People of Afrikan descent has endured at least 400 years of criminal dehumanization and genocide. Afrikan people who were enslaved were often experimented on against their will. Even many existing African communities were marked and used as test subjects without their prior knowledge or permission. The pseudo-philosophies of Eugenics, Social Darwinism, Nazism, and white supremacy were used to justify the inhuman treatment of our people. Gas, Radiation, exposure to toxic chemicals, Vaccines and experimental surgeries were rampantly used on non-consenting Black Women, Children, and Men. Our People were used like guinea pigs and white rats, to improve the health and well-being of non-Afrikan peoples. For instance, James Merriam Sims was a caucasian who grew to become a well-known scientist, who built his career on his performance of the most ghoulish experiments on Women of Afrikan descent, who were captured and imprisoned, to be used as test subjects for gynecology. Sims even used Black soldiers during the civil war. U.S. Scientific Experimentations were rampant, even in the Motherland of Afrika before World War I. Many of the experiments conducted on the so-called Jews of Europe, were an adjunct from the cruel trials that were first conducted in Afrika. Currently, we are subjected to the atrocities, of HIV/AIDS and other nameless STDs, Viruses, like Ebola and other germ war, and outright neglect and attrition, like Katrina and Flint Michigan Water Crisis.

The war on Drugs was a war on Indigo Afrikan Peoples. Our own children were caught in the trap of the school-to-prison-pipeline, as we gathered and brought our children out of the frying pan of Jim Crow forced segregation, into the flames of Integration, Indoctrination, forced assimilation and Neo-Enslavement of the 13th Amendment, incarceration and Wage/Debt slavery.

We must take back control of our own destinies as Indigo Peoples of the Afrikan diaspora, by taking back control and making critical choices about our food, water and health. Many of us were lynched and pushed off of our lands, or denied access to our own fertile lands, that would have enabled us to grow food for our families and nation, through Jim Crow laws, Real Estate Fraud, and sharecropping traps.

When you consider that historically, this is the main reason our ancestors were snatched away from their own towns and communities, right here in the American diaspora as well as the African Diaspora, then forced to work to death for someone else’s empowerment and profit, there is a profound irony to this. We Indigo People possessed the 3rd eye innate knowledge of the land resources and animals, Just like the mysticism of George Washington Carver, and that spiritually, connects us to all life energy. In many cases, we presently express a lack of interest in traveling outdoors, gardening and food cultivation, Animal Caretaking, often, not even having a small herb garden in one’s home. I know that deep inside of us, we still have access to the knowledge of our Afrikan Ancestors, who charted the stars, the earth, and the waterways. Our Ancestors traversed the vortexes of the oceans, raised civilizations and systems, communed with all life forms on this planet- from the air, land and waters, and then harvested an abundance of nutritious foods, maneuvering through feast and famine. Our Ancestors had innate knowledge of healing modalities within, and without of ourselves and this planet. We did not need alien public health “programs”outside of our own healing practices in our communities. I would like to encourage you to return to our own ways. Yes, we must divest from this Medical Maniacal Maafa! I have Established Amen Ankh Enterprises which centers around a family education resource network. I have a program of You G.R.O.W.W. Girls and Youth Growing Green and a bridge for our youth...

Jumpin Jim Crow and His Role with Women

Jumpin Jim Crow and his Role with Women

WHO CAN STILL REMEMBER THE EXPERIENCES WITH THE U.S. APARTHEID OF JIM CROW LAWS?

I was born during the reign of Ol’ Jim Crow. By 1965, Jim Crow laws were at the apex of their effect on Afrikan Americans and this society. The US instituted Jim Crow Laws for almost 100 years after, the reconstruction period, that occurred after the Civil War. Many Caucasians practiced Jim Crow anti-social and terrorist behavior, after their beliefs, that the remaining people of African descent, who survived the Civil War, were advancing economically, in spite of the many hundreds of years of US imprisonment and forced labor, of peoples of African descent. Jim Crow was branded after a man of African Descent, who suffered with physical and mental disabilities. Jim Crow became a fictitious characterization of African American Men, to debase and dehumanize men of African descent, to be thought of as undeserving of equal human rights and economic empowerment.

Racism is just and an artificial political construct. The coining of the word and description of "white" to describe people of Aryan, Caucasians, was contrived around the latter 1700's in the United States.

As you believe in this artificial world, you become controlled by it's psychopathy and often crippled into PTSD (Post Traumatic Slavery Disorders), Ma’afa Syndrome and Cognitive Dissonance.

From the 1880s into the 1960s, a majority of American states enforced segregation through "Jim Crow" laws (so called after a black character in minstrel shows).
Jim Crow was the name of the racial caste system which operated primarily, but not exclusively in southern and border states, between 1877 and the mid-1960s. The name Jim Crow is often used to describe the segregation laws, rules, and customs which arose after Reconstruction ended in 1877. Reference: Ferris State Univ.

I remember as a young girl how my Mom enjoyed shopping “downtown.” I can still recall having to ride in the back of the bus, with her. Before boarding, mom would enter the front of the bus to pay, then we would run to the back entrance of the bus, and wait for the driver to open the back door--- so that we could finally board- (hoping that the bus driver wouldn’t just drive off!) As I look back now, I reflect on how dehumanizing and humiliating this experience must have been to my Mother and anyone else who had to endure this treatment. We could only go to “certain” stores… that would allow “Negros” to patronize. There, clerks would watch us like hawks! So as a little girl, I was made to feel that -they (store managers or owners) assumed we were thieves. We could never try on the clothing in the dressing rooms or even try on new shoes. Once we purchased "their" clothing, we would never be permitted to exchange or return an item. Mom would always pack a nice boxed lunch like cold fried chicken and potato salad, or pimento cheese sandwiches with fresh fruit and, a thermos of milk, lemonade or cool aid to have on the journey. So, when our stomachs grumbled as we passed by a lunch counter or café and restaurant to smell the food on the grill, Mom would take us to a park, (often times we were not permitted to enter there either,) or find a bench, where she would spread out a blanket so that we would have an outing together for lunch. I can recall the humiliating experience of having to squat in the bushes to relive myself sometimes, -because "the colored" could not use public restrooms! Often, they did not provide a “separate and unequal” toilet facility.

My Mom and Dad never tried to explain Jim Crow laws to us. So, when we asked if we could go swimming, or even play at a public playground, or go to a carnival, or an amusement park, they would quietly say “no we can't” (or just didn't say anything.)

My great grandmother was employed as a maid and had to travel day after day –in the back of several buses to arrive at her destination- to clean floors, cook and nanny, only to be able to pass on their employer's leftover food and hand-me-downs, to my mother and her siblings. Maids, cooks, Nanny, Housekeeper, Laundress, Dishwasher, Sharecropper, were the examples of the most common, limited and lowly positions that African women were allowed to employ. So, even employment opportunities were segregated.

So, as “negro” women and their children bore the burden of ol’ Jim Crow, caucasian women supported Jim Crow Laws with their actions, voices and votes! Jim Crow laws were enforced by race privileged women who, as teachers, refused to teach the Ruby Bridges', all across the U.S. or, after schools were forced to be integrated, would marked down the final assessments of Afrikan children's IQ tests by 20 points or more!

“Jim Crow was jumpin,” in the skin game- when “race privileged” waitresses refused to serve Black people at lunch counters. Then, when Ol' Jim Crow, finally flew away, over turned by civil rights, these same waitresses would put their blond, brunette, or red hair- along with their hock of spit, in the food they served us...

It was Race privileged women who often falsely claimed the cry of rape to incite lynchings, and the enslavement/imprisonment of hundreds of thousands of innocent Black Men. The 3K terrorist attacks and death/slaughter of entire Afrikan towns and communities were incited in many cases by false charges of caucasian women that caused the destruction of Black Wallstreet towns.

Yep, Ol’ Jim Crow was finally kicked down a back alley, unable to hold down his position front and center stage, as such a popular reign in the minstrel show circuit… From the end of the reconstruction period, it took almost 100 years of U.S. apartheid before Afrikan people were permitted to move from the back of the bus to the front of the bus, and then finally become the bus drivers and bus company owners!

I am aware that Afrikan people at that time wanted to feel that we belonged to the US experience, yet, as we called for this assimilation as- “progress” ---so that we could have "legal/equal rights", in public venues. In my humble opinion, we gave up so much more economically  to support and reinforce the status quos of Corporatocracy and imperialism! We continue to give our Black dollars over to the prosperity of race privileged businesses and corporations, Then work in race privileged owned factories for the prosperity of  their stock market shareholders… in effect, to run down and neglect our own Black Banks, lunch counters, restaurants, dry cleaners, cultural arts, manufacturing businesses. Our Afrikan American doctors, lawyers and other professionals would follow this dead end path, to then leave our communities to blighted and predatory exploitation. So, eventually, we were subject to the health-care that is really death-care, and dumbed down education, for the manufacture/production and profit of our alien oppressors! So Integration and assimilation only open the gateway for more people to be marginalized and disenfranchised- blurring the middle classes and increasing the wealth for the elite.

Even now, we encourage our children to attend public schools, where the majority of the teachers are caucasian women who reinforce their race privileged, middle class value system into our children. Then upon graduation from high schools, we encourage our youth to go to a college or university, with the hopes that they will find a “good job” in a corporation to “make that good money.” In effect, we have encouraged a generation of our youth, to leave our communities and live in their “suburban” death-style” as assimilated. Our Afrikan American communities are now blighted with fast GMO foods, off label groceries stores and "dollar" stores filled with imported items, illegal drug dealers, liquor stores, gas/convenience stores- all owned by outsiders who don't live within our communities and don't invest in the people that they serve.

Even the "Mega Churches" hire contractors from outside of the community to build quick structures. Our dollars bleed and leach out of our communities faster than we can make the money. There is no recirculation of money. If Money were symbolic of blood and water- the two vital resources for a living body, that would mean sure and eminent death! Even the money spent on drugs, and liquor are brought in by race privileged, and that corrupt money goes to the economic construct of race imperialist and not serve the interests of Black people.

Black People don't police our own communities. The police harass, Brutalize, and terrorize. Whenever they are involved, there is racial profiling and abuse of authority that only leads to support the prison industrial complex of neo-slavery.

The Civil Rights legislation only applied to public Housing and public Businesses- So the racist’s imperialist privilege response, at that time was to immediately go private! Even today, race privileged women/mothers were able to excel and ascend to lofty status in business and within their personal life, as they once again, went along with the racist status quot of privatization; to raise their children in “gated” private neighborhoods and communities, far away from public housing, people of color and Afrikan descendants!

For instance, Hillary Clinton is the first lady to the highest office of the US. She grew up to enjoy an elite, privileged “Beaver Cleaver” life. She lived her life aloof, of the same racist system that enabled her to launch a political career, from of all places- with The Children's Defense Fund! Yet, She vilified Black youth as Super Predators!

https://amen-parankh.blogspot.com/2009/09/us-kkorpratakrazy-negro-peons.html?m=1, even though the Clinton's were hounded with the "White Water Affair" during their presidential career, they remain to, assert US imperialism, then to inherit the land and resources of Haiti after the HAARP destruction!

How Shall We Address the Word Negro?

The word “negro,” represents an archaic shadow of old past terminology, used for the racists subjugation of our people to support the premise of imperialism. As a people, we have evolved to a state of self determination. The origin of the term “Negro” is Latin for the color “black.” While this color reference was used as a racial representation for African people, the origin of the term Caucasoid- represented the racial origins of people from the Caucus Mountains and Mongoloid- referred to those peoples, whose racial origins were from Mongolia… These racist classifications are dated by more than 100 years LOL! Surely we have advanced in our own self determination to move beyond the past morays and racist classifications of the U.S., to move in the spirit of Kujichagulia, and with respect to Honorable Marcus Garvey (Triumphant,) when he refers to “Africa for Africans!”
The diasporas of Afrikans on this planet, as well as the continent of Afrika, encompasses many countries whose peoples align themselves as one nation. As I research the history of Honorable Marcus Garvey, I find that it was his life’s work to promote the unification of the Afrikan Diaspora. I know that we can always debate the origin of the word “Africa or Afrika”… Yet Afrika has been -and is still, considered to be the only universal term for the racial origin of the original “human” (Hue-Man).

Our sensitivities over title and ethnic affiliations, are ultimately a reflection of each of our own internal conflicts and turmoil due to our treatment from the Maafa, -how our diverse nations, ethnicities and origins were all lumped together by complexion only, without regard to our unique diversities. We were bred together, like stock animals for specific results. We are all suffering from inherited and direct injuries, of unwarranted rebuke, assault, and disenfranchisement from the MAAFA that still remain.

The greatest assault, or sin that we endure, of all other transgressions, is a lie. One lie can kill, steal and destroy everything that is in its proximity. Lies are like a toxic gas that you can’t see, smell or taste. Yet, you know it is there, you can see it's effects, in yourself and everyone around you... We have been under attack and besieged by so many false truths and contrivances, that bombards and attacks our self image, self esteem, and moral fortitude. From the very "his-"story books that we feed an alien program to and, in the alien institutions, we cause our children to master and drill these lies into their psychic, down to the mass media that follows us everywhere.

My question is- Then, how shall we define ourselves!? If Africa is not considered the racial and national origin of all our ancestors of melaninated people, then what time and place can we be united at and in connection to?

The Call for MAAT in Our Time Sequencing!

It seems that even time has been hijacked for the perpetuation of imperialism and world domination in this western-neo-Roma-Greco-Jew system.

MY "Happy New Year" for instance, begins around March 20th At the Vernal equinox. That's when nature wakes up, (at least in the northern hemisphere!) March is under the planetary constellation of Aries, which commemorates Birth and renewal and the commencement of astrological time. (So, Easter should be about the birth of a "Christ" [or higher state of renewal,] not death.) A new year doesn't make sense in January, it is the coldest part of winter! Everything is hibernating and in a deep sleep. Nothing in nature is displaying anything new. All these crazies, following the rituals of drinking alcohol and shooting guns and screaming, is just foolishness to me.

December's "Christmas" should have been celebrated as the death and resurrection of "Christ," because the 21st-24th was the death and resurrection of the Sun/Son!)
(And yes we should be celebrating "Kwanzaa" in September!) September is the Autumnal equinox and a time of harvest. (It's much warmer in the northern areas- not so much snow and ice to contend with too.) Just analyzing all of the European cultural-pagan rituals, including the national-patriotic holidays, makes one think of the curious web that one is caught up in. As an Afrikan in the Americas, My many cultural traditions and rituals are not incorporated (or integrated) into the mainstream society. We are all taught, at an early age, not to tell lies- but also taught to believe in lies, like the tooth faerie and Santa Claus... So, that later it is more culpable to believe in hope, religion, duty, patriotism and justice etc. Yet, these beliefs are opposed to our natural Eastern/ Afrikan values, principles and ethics. For instance, look at the seven principles of Kwanzaa: Unity, Self Determination, Collective Work and Responsibility, Cooperative Economics, Creativity, Purpose and Faith. All but Faith, represent principles that are similar to the Kemetic principles of Maat. Faith and BELIEF are spells. They are part of the distractions that keep us in the "dream world" or "Ghost-Spell" instead of understanding our true Afrikan conscious knowledge, which will empower us!

When I had to memorize the months of the year in elementary school, I new even then, that something was wrong. Then I found out that the root of "Sept" in September meant 7, Yet it represented the 9th month, "Octo" in October meant 8- for the 10th month!, Novem-Nova=9- the 11th month, Dec=10- 12th Month... yes, I knew as a child, that the Gregorian Calendar and this western time system was really off!!! The remaining months of the year are also named in honor of pagan gods. January is named in honor of Janus, the 2-faced god. February for Februa, goddess of the fever. March for Mars. April for Aprilis. May for Maia. June for Juno. July for Julius Cesar. August for Augustus Cesar, and on and on. I then became curious about time and calendars. For instance, why do most indigenous cultures follow a 28 day (lunar) cycle- which is very harmonious with nature, while we have this 30, 31, plus the 28-29 leap year structure?

Look at the names given for the seven days of the week. European paganism is also represented. Monday is named in honor of the Moon (Moon's Day). Tuesday named in honor of the God Tiwaz (Tiwaz Day). Wednesday is named in honor of the god Odin, or Wodin (Wodin's Day). Thursday is named in honor of the god, Thor (Thor's Day). Friday is named in honor of the goddess Frigg or Freya (Freya's Day). Saturday is named in honor of Saturn (Saturn's Day). And Sunday is named in honor of the Sun (Sun's Day).

So, not only is the names of paganistic deities and rituals embed in the time frames of this Neo-Greco/Roma society, I think this establishes the designs in place, to throw off the masses of human beings from natural and celestial rhythms and timing, to force the masses to live in an artificially contrived and distorted time structure just for control, power, exploitation, and capitalistic gain!

Yes, we are controlled by time. I still find it really awkward (outside of the fact that I didn't like Pres. Bush) when the President of the U.S. announces daylight savings time. Also, to think that this is supposed to be the 2010th year when we know that history can be traced for hundreds of thousands of years! Very is odd.-

To think- The seasons are just the opposite, south of the equator. So Winter is Summer, and Spring is Autumn, below the Equator; Just as the Sunset is Sunrise on the other side of the planet.

    I would like to end with a quote from the prolific writer and author, Jamal Ali Aka Ogun Ptah Aka KhepeRa;
    http://electronicdrum.wordpress.com/2010/08/25/integration-or-separation-is-this-even-the-right-question/#more-992

A simple example of how this shift in vision/thought can manifest, consider the following. Nearly everyone reading this is well familiar with the Gregorian calendar, so much so, that if someone asks you the year or month, it’s likely all they would think to reference. Consequently, the source/authority of this calendar is then accepted, largely without question, in all matters relative to time. If it’s a discussion of age, antiquity, ancient civilizations, anthropology, dinosaurs – whatever the chronological context, there is essentially one authority, one voice in the room. However, many are also aware of the Indian calendar, and the ones of China, the (Kemetic, Islamic,) Hebrews, Mayans and Aztecs. All but the last two are actually commonly in use today, within their respective cultural contexts. Further, each of these carries a current year much older than the one we use:
    Hebrew: Year 5770/5771
    India:Year 5111
    China: Year 4708, 4707, or 4647

One of the key things to consider in all this is the issue of Puranic time, and the question of which yuga it is year 5111 of.

The point here is that when people from these cultures listen to Europeans speak of Stone Age this, or Pleistocene that, the Jurassic or Mesozoic periods, they listen in context, because for them, there is more than one authority, more than one voice in the room. As a result, they are less inclined to accept the European/western model as ‘gospel’, and beyond question. Case in point, the idea of Stone Age has shifted as those clinging to those references have been compelled to a regionalization of their chronological order. There were high civilizations in existence before and during the European Stone Age, and there are islanders in Melanesia/Polynesia who are presently deemed as living at a ‘Stone Age’ level. So what does this mean? That one’s sense of time – and thereby the very context of their living – is liberated/empowered by a knowledge of one’s cultural root chronology, and they will be less likely to be swayed easily in discussions related to time…..like history.

    • Olatunji Mwamba Commented:

I've known this for years. Most of our people are celebrating what they think is the new year, when in fact what they are celebrating is "Jubilee Day" (January 1, 1863). Our people also ...don't realize that most people celebrate a famous event and have commemorated this event by starting their calendars based upon this particular event. For instance, the Arabs commemorate "The Hejira" (The Flight to Medina) as their start date and their calendar is a Lunar Calendar. The Small -Hats (so-called Jews) started their calendar and commemorate what they call "The Exodus". Christians start their calendar and commemorate the so-called Crucifixion of the man named Jesus ( we have no scientific proof he even really existed), although their calendar is a Solar Calendar. The Kemetic calendar has 12 months and this calendar starts in August and ends at the end of July. The Kemetic names of the months:

1 August (Meso-Ra -Birth of Ra)

      2 September (Tehuti-Knowledge/Wisdom)

      3 October (MenKhet-third month)

4 November( Het-Heru (House of Heru)

5 December (Ka-Her-Ka -The Ka over Ka)

6 January (Shefbedet The sixth Month)

7 February (Rekh Wer-The Great Burning)

8 March (Rekh Nedjes-The small burning)

9 April (Renutet -Neter of The Harvest)

      10 May (Khonsu- Khonsu)

11 June (Paini- The Festival Of The Valley)

12 July (Ipet -The One of Ipet)

Come the end of July, we will be entering the year 6250. This calendar is based upon the liberation of Kemet from the Asiatics and the unification of Kemet by Suten Narmer in 4236 B.C.E.
